Hi...my name is Ron Maddox. I have been a Dallas resident since January of 1991. I was born in San Antonio and have lived in various cities in Texas all of my life, but Dallas is "home".
I would like to share a little bit of my personal journey with you. I came out as a gay man in 1981 in a small town in central Texas. Over the years, I had many hurtful experiences with gay men where I was treated very poorly. As a result, I gained a very negative attitude about gay men in general. My perception has been that gay men don't treat each other very well. Maybe it's time to change that.
At FMO, our focus is on sharing adventures, quality interactions and man to man friendships that promote trust and respect which are the hallmarks of For Men Only.
I, myself, am building relationships with men that I respect and trust. For the first time in my life, I feel like I am no longer "ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN". I am learning to relate to my gay brothers on a whole new level.
My vision for FMO is that it creates an energy where, as gay men, we can come together and authentically learn how to love, trust, accept and respect each other.
If nothing changes....NOTHING CHANGES!!!
I hope you will help me hold this vision. Together, we can positively change the face of the gay male community in Dallas!
